Rob began teaching with The City of Edinburgh Council in 1994 and in 2000 he joined George Heriots School in Edinburgh. Each week he sees over 100 pupils and, whilst saxophone is his forte, Rob enjoys teaching flute, clarinet, oboe & bassoon. Throughout this time Rob has had the privilege of coaching many youth bands, both in his schools and at regional/national level. Rob spent five years as Director of the Junior Edinburgh Schools Jazz Orchestra and enjoyed performances here in Edinburgh and on ESJO’s European tours.

For those pupils who want to achieve instrumental qualifications, Rob has prepared and accompanied over 700 pupils for NAT5/Higher/Advanced Higher/ABRSM/ABRSM Jazz Exams/Trinity College of Music examinations.

Rob is dedicated to building enthusiasm & confidence in players of all ages. His positive approach has seen many saxophonists experience the satisfaction and joy that the instrument can bring.
